Description : ELECAMPANE ESSENTIAL OIL is a herb up to 1.6 meters high, with stout stemm covered in soft hairs. It is native to Europe and Asia, and naturalized in North America. The essential oil is mainly produced from imported roots in southern France. It has oval pointed leaves with velvety underneath, large, daisy-like flowers and large, yellow, freshly rhizome roots.
Constituents : Alantolactone 52.4%, Isoalantolactone 33.0%
Uses : The Elecampane is used as an anthelmintic in Europe. It is also an good bactericide. The oil and absolute are used as fragrance components and fixatives in cosmetics, soaps detergents and perfumes. It is also used as a flavour ingredient in alcoholic soft drinks, beverages, and foodstuffs, especially desserts.
Benefit : Because of its carminative, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmotic, and antimicrobial properties, Elecampane is also can be used to soothe nausea, flatulence, and diarrhes.
