Description : The essential oil of elemi is extracted by steam distillation of the gum obtained from the elemi tree; Its botanical name is Canarium luzonicum. The main components of this oil are dipentene, elemicin, elemol, limonene, phellandrene, and terpineol.
Constituents : terpineol, elemicine, elemol, dipentene, phellandrene and limonene.
Uses : Elemi can used as a stimulant, and also employed to prevent swelling, treat skin ulcers, and to ease the symptoms of rheumatism. In aromatherapy, Elemi is used for its grounding and balancing properties, and is said to help align the chakras and relieve stress. It makes the perfect meditation oil.
Benefit : Elemi essential oil helps to reduce pain, prevent infection and speed the healing of minor wounds such as burns, cuts, bites, or scrapes. Elemi essential oil prevent infection and also promotes the development of new skin cells.
