Description : Evening primrose oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid that has been used to treat everything, including female reproductive tissues, blood channels, the respiratory passages, and the nervous system. Evening primrose oil might help relieve symptoms of notoriously difficult-to-treat and painful skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema.
Constituents : linoleic acid , GLA – both are essential components of myelin, the protective coating around nerve fibers, and the neuronal cell membrane.
Uses : Evening primrose oil used for premenstrual syndrome (PMS), breast pain, endometriosis, and symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes. In foods, it also used as a dietary source of essential fatty acids. In manufacturing, evening primrose oil is used in soaps and cosmetics.
Benefit : As a diet supplement, Evening Primrose oil is reputed to provide essential fatty acids, importantly gamma-linolenic acid. It also may have anti-inflammatory properties.
