Description :
Despite the name, Bergamot Mint is not related to the bergamot fruit. Despite, Bergamot comes from a perennial herbflowering and that is part of the Lamiaceae (mint) family. The essential oil, which is commonly found in many personal care products, is steam distilled from the leaves and stems of the Mentha citrata plant. Bergamot Mint Essential oil also known as mentha citrate. The oil is derived from nearly ripened fruit of plant and is used in soaps, perfumes & toiletry items. Bergamot mint is an erect & well branched out herb that has slender and ovate or elliptical shaped leaves with small thick terminal spikes. A native to southern & central Europe, it is a perennial plant characterized for being hybrid in nature.
