Description
Cedar wood comes from several different trees known as cedars that grow in different parts of the world. Cedar from Cedrus was once an important timber in the Mediterranean area, used for building and shipbuilding, but severely overexploited for thousands of years.
Constituents
p-methyl acetophenone, p-methyl-d-3-tetrahydroacetophenone and trans atlantones, Himachalene, Himachalol, Alohimachalol, Deodrone, Iso-Alohimachalol & Atlantone.
Uses
It is used as an antiseborrheic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, tonic, astringent, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, insecticidal, sedative, and fungicidal substance.
