Description : Davana Essential Oil (Artemisia pallens) is also known as Dhavanam. It is a dark yellow to brown liquid with a sweet and fruity aroma. Its main constituents are davanone and linalool. This oil is used in perfumery in chypre and fougere fragrances, which may include strongly coloured ingredients like labdanum and oakmoss. The davana plant is a small and aromatic herbaceous plant which is native to the Southern part of India, especially to the states of Karnataka,Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. It is also known by its botanical name of Artemisia Pallens.
Constituents : acetophenone, Davanone, Davan-Ether, Davana Furane and linalool
Uses : Davana essential oil is used by luxurious perfumeries around the world to enhance fragrances with itsfruity, grape-like aroma. It is also used to treat stomach complaints such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, and constipation and to improve symptoms of menopause and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
