DILL ESSENTIAL OIL

Description : Dill (Anethum graveolens) is an annual herb in the celery family Apiaceae. It is the only species in the genus Anethum. Dill is widely grown in Eurasia where its leaves and seeds are used as a herb or spice for flavouring food. This food is very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Niacin, Phosphorus, Zinc and Copper, and a very good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6,Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium and Manganese.

Constituents : d-carvone, dillapiol, dhc, eugenol, limonene, terpinene and myristicin, Carvone, phellandrene, eugenol, pinen

Uses :

1. Diffuse with Bergamot and Lemon to lessen stress and anxious feelings.
2. Add to marinades, soups, and salads to enhance flavor and promote digestion.
3. Use when canning to help preserve garden vegetables.
4. Add 1–2 drops to an herbal tea before bedtime to promote a restful sleep.

Dill essential oil is used for digestive problems such as constipation, loss of appetite and indigestion.

Benefit : Dill essential oil can help stop gas formation in the intestines. It also has a calming and soothing effect that helps reduce nervousness and relieves anxiety and depression.
