OREGANO ESSENTIAL OIL

Description : Oregano essential oil is a part of the mint family. Oregano oil is produced from the oregano plant through the process of steam distillation.

Constituents : carvacrol (share 40–70%), gamma-terpinene (8–10%), alpha pinene, myrcene, thymol, p-cymene (5–10%), flavonoids, caffeic acid derivatives.

Common Names : Origanum oil, Wild Marjoram

Property : It is rubefacient, anthelmintic, analgesic, antirheumatic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, antiseptic, antiviral, carminative, choleretic, cytophylactic, bactericidal, diaphoretic, expectorant, fungicidal, febrifuge, parasiticide, stimulant, tonic.

Uses and Benefits :

• Oregano essential oil is used in medicines for headaches, wounds and venomous bites and even hemlock poisoning.
• Oregano essential oil has strong antimicrobial properties, which are used to assist in the prevention of infection and to treat skin fungi such as athlete’s foot.
• Oregano essential oil is also used to eliminate lice, intestinal worms and infections.
• Oregano essential oil is also used to treat diarrhoea, fever, jaundice, vomiting and itchy skin conditions.
• It is also used in fragrance components in colognes, soaps and perfumes, aroma especially fragrances.
• It is also used in food products as well.
