CAPSICUM OLEORESIN 0.5% CAPSAICIN

Description : Capsicum Oleoresin is obtained from properly ripened seeds of black pepper. Dried peppercorns are completely processed with the blackened external covering. Its main constituents are capsaicin (0.5%) and capsanthin. The extraction is performed by percolating with a variety of solvents, primarily hexane, which are removed prior to use. Capsicum oleoresins have a heavier flavor and are more popular than other varieties.

Constituents : Volatile oil content w/v: 20 ml/100gm, Piperine content: 40%, Residual solvent (By gas chromatography): Less than 10 ppm.

Uses : Capsicum Oleoresin is a powerful irritant and a carminative, which is also used as a counter irritant in lumbago and neuralgia. It is widely used in the food industry as a coloring and flavoring agent. The oleoresins represent complete spice flavor whereas essential oils only provide the aroma.

Benefit : Capsicum Oleoresin can be helpful in relieving stomach aches involving poorly functioning stomach muscles and acts as an antibacterial agent. It also finds major application as a food condiment.

Caution Note : Oleoresin is a powerful irritant and even in minute quantities produces an intense burning sensation when it comes in contact with the eyes and tender parts of the skin.
